A Letter from Dr. Ken Roberts

After 46 years and some months, I am retiring from practicing dentistry effective September 7th, prior to which date I am taking summer holidays commencing August 12th, 2021. For over 2 years, I have been looking for a replacement dentist to take over my practice. I wanted someone who has a good range of skills and a good base of practice time behind him, and someone who is looking to practice in a smaller community such as Summerland. This person is Dr. Brian Wiebe. He has graduated from UBC dential school in 2002 and he has practiced in Abbotsford since then. Brian and his wife, Sandra, want to leave the Lower Mainland to live in the Okanagan Valley, having holidayed here many times over the years. It has always been their goal to move here. They are looking forward to the less hectic lifestyle that they believe that Summerland will offer (and from all of us who have lived here for many years, we know that it will!!).

Anita will be staying on to work for Brian in reception for the next few months to assist in the transition. Also, I am pleased to say that Benita Rabello, my certified dental assistant, who has many years of experience in the dental field, will also continue to work with Brian. All your dental records will remain here in the office with Brian so your continuity of care will go forward seamlessly. Brian has many more years of practice ahead of him and is looking forward to that challenge, so you will have him at your side, taking good care of your dental needs, for many more years to come. I wish you and Brian the very best!

Finally, I wish to say that I feel very privileged by, and very grateful for, your entrustment to me of your dental care needs over the years. I also wish to say thank you for that; I will go into retirement with that in mind and with the thought that Brian will take good care of you!

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Ken Roberts
